NOTED AUTHORS SERIES

Massachusetts School of Law is inviting writers and scholars who publish in the fields of history, current events and international affairs to come to the school and speak about their work.

School officials believe that conversations among authors, students and faculty, and members of the public will be an important part of the intellectual climate to be found north of Boston.

Each event will feature a presentation by the author, followed by a period of discussion and a question and answer session. For those interested in attending these presentations, admission is free and no reservations are required. Through an arrangement with the Andover Bookstore, books will be for sale at each event, and the authors will sign copies.

"Massachusetts School of Law is offering this series because it is not only a law school, but also a major intellectual center for the Merrimack Valley,” said Lawrence R. Velvel, the school’s founding dean. “Its award winning television programs on major societal topics and important books, its many internet ‘publications,’ its forthcoming series of conferences on crucial topics like presidential power and changes in economic thinking, and its new series of presentations by the authors of important books are all part of the school’s effort to present major intellectual events for the Merrimack Valley.” “We are thrilled to be working with the Massachusetts School of Law on this great new book event series,” said John Hugo, manager of the Andover Bookstore. “The Andover Bookstore has been serving the local community for over 200 years. These new events are a fine continuation of that service.”
